God has called our church to be a tangible expression of His love in our community. Our church’s vision is to Reach – Grow – Impact! To reach people with the message of God’s love, to help people grow in life and faith, and to impact our community and world by serving others. We are launching the Community Impact Project to help us more effectively and strategically carry out the mission and vision that God has given us at Life Community Church.
Why is this so important? Because 9 out of 10 people in our community do not have a life giving relationship with Jesus and God cares deeply about that. So much so, that He sent His Son to die for them. Since this is so important to Jesus, it is so important to us. Jesus has called us to be a solution and source of care, healing, hope, and life to the people of Kirkland.
The Goal! The goal is to develop a customized community engagement plan. A Care Strategy that will leverage the unique resources, gifts and talents of Life Community Church to meet the greatest needs in our community. We need to be intentional and strategic so that we may be the best stewards of our resources and be the most effective at reaching and impacting people who are far from God with the care and love of our Savior.
So what does this look like? We are going to be doing extensive research of our community and our church. We will be discovering the greatest unmet needs of our community and matching those up with who we are as a church. Every community is unique as well as every church. Discovering the uniqueness of each and how they best fit together is the key to developing a community engagement plan and strategy that will work.
To help us with this process, we will be partnering with the C4 Group. The C4 Group has successfully partnered with many different churches and organizations to do exactly what we want to do. They are professionals at this and have the experience and expertise to do the research we are looking for. They have developed customized community engagement plans, Care Strategies, all across the country. Pastor Mike has personally communicated with 6 of their other partnerships and all of them have praised the work of the C4 Group. It is neat to hear how each groups Care Strategy looked different and how effective they were. C4 & Westminster Community Church in Seattle discovered a great need for community dinners. They now have 5 dinners around their community every week feeding up to 200 at each. C4 & Eastridge Church in Issaquah discovered that one of the greatest unmet needs on the plateau was ministry to victims of domestic violence. Who would have known that? They know have a significant ministry to domestic violence victims. C4 & Rockford First Church in Illinois discovered that their community’s single parent families were under served. They now have a ministry that offers mentorship, financial guidance, emotional support, help with practical needs, and material assistance to single parent families in their community.
The scope of work. Over a period of 3 months, the C4 Group will do all the necessary and extensive research of our church and our community. Assess this information with us. Work with us to develop a strategy and plan. Do training with the staff, key leaders, and volunteers of Life Community. Provide a strategic funding path by discovering other avenues of revenue through foundations, grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual philanthropists whose personal passions and giving priorities match our specific community projects. They will also provide an evaluation plan to ensure that goals are met, ministry is effective, and quality efforts are accomplished with real measureable results.
The Need. We have a game plan for sustainable funding, but what we need is a launch. We need to raise $7500 and our goal is to raise this by Sunday July 3rd. Would you pray and ask God how you might be a part of seeing us become all that God has called us to be as a church in this community, to be a solution of care, healing, hope, and life to those in need and to do it effectively for the Kingdom of God.
WE SENSE GOD IS IN THIS. Our leaders and elder board are behind this. This is an awesome opportunity to partner with God to reach people who are far from faith and make a lasting and even eternal impact. Let’s lead in our community, give our best, and give God the glory.
